Notes:  Understorey Network members are welcome to volunteer on any Monday at the nursery and depending on the time of year do varied tasks from taking cuttings, sowing seed, pricking out seedlings, potting on plants, weeding and garden maintenance. It is also a great social activity as well and a great opportunity to learn more about Tasmanian native plants and how to grow them.

What:  World Heritage Working Bee

Directions:  Meeting in Hobart for carpooling
Bring:  Bring: Gardening gloves, lunch, clothes for wet and cold and hot weather (the site is over 600 m elevation, on the slopes of Wylds Craig in the west of Tasmania).
Notes:  Activity: Transplant myrtle and leatherwood seedlings growing at the edge of the road, out into the coupe, to speed up the return of the rainforest

Notes:  Huge range of Tasmanian native plants available in tubestock or 6 inch pots. Species include: bottle brushes tea trees paper barks Eucalypts/gum trees blackwoods wattles ground covers grasses correas westringia and much, much more Tubestock: $2 each or 3 for $5 6 inch pots $5 Cheaper prices can be negotiated for bigger orders (thousands available) This is a fundraiser for our not-for-profit community nursery and all plants have been grown by volunteers and people with disabilities.

Where:  Pelverata Falls Walking Track, Pelverata
Directions:  Take Pelverata Road either from Sandfly if coming from Hobart/Channel or from Channel Hwy near Cradoc if coming from the Huon. Travel along Pelverata Rd until you reach Croswells Rd which is signposted for Pelverata Falls.
Bring:  hat, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, drinking water and a snack
Notes:  Come for a 3 hour bush walk and learn how to identify Tasmanian native plants and collect seed from a range of species, whilst helping to restock the Understorey Network seed bank for local revegetation projects. (Track includes some steep sections)
