Below and directly above sandstone cliffs. Only known from one population in the Heathy Hills Nature Reserve near Elderslie, in the South East.

Mirbelia oxylobioides has internal wall partitions in the pods, which distinguishes it from Oxylobium ellipticum. Suitable below powerlines.

The pod is brown, 8-10mm long, covered with soft downy hair and has pointed tips. Seeds are 2-4mm long. Seed drops soon after maturity. Bag maturing fruits or place groundsheets under plants to catch seed, or harvest pods close to maturity (when they turn brown) and dry in warm area.
