Flowers
The flowers are 5-petalled with thin blue or purple lines on the inside of the petals, and borne on stems arising from the centre of the foliage. Flowering stems are less than 5cm tall.

Form
One of the smallest snow gentians, a herb with a rosette of oval to lance-shaped leaves; stem leaves are small and less than 1cm long.

Habitat Notes
Tasmanian endemic. Uncommon, in alpine and subalpine areas in the south of the State, including treeless vegetation in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

General Notes
Propagated from seed. Cold storage is recommended for best results, although temperature and duration required is unknown. Not often cultivated, but would be suitable for growing in containers, particularly in moist but well-drained soils, with high organic matter. Suitable below powerlines.
