Form

Very variable, tufted grass. In dry, open habitats, the leaves are grey-green and rarely longer than 10cm; in damper and shaded sites, the leaves are soft, bright green and up to 20cm long. Stems are smooth and round in cross-section.

Habitat Notes

Tasmanian endemic. Rocky areas under light eucalypt cover, 800-1200m above sea level, in the Central Highlands, Midlands, Ben Lomond, East Coast, South West and Mt. Wellington.
