Flowers
Flowers are white or rose pink, and have a notch at the end which is about 3mm long. Flowers are solitary and are borne in the leaf axils on the upper part of the stem.

Form
Perennial herb, often with purplish, hard, hollow stems, which are prostate and bear roots on the lower parts, and are erect with dense short hairs on the upper parts. Leaves are generally opposite, long, thin and stalkless.

Seed Collection
The capsule is hairy and 5-6cm long, and contains egg-shaped seeds with one side flattened. Unlike most other Epilobium species, the seeds do not have a plume of hairs.
