General Notes
Plants are not long-lived and should be treated as biennials. Grows well in sunny or semi-shaded positions and adapts to most free-draining soils. Useful for many situations including borders, underplanting of taller shrubs or trees, rockeries and containers. An excellent cut-flower which should be picked before opening. Suitable below powerlines.

Extract achenes by rubbing seedheads against fine wire screens or by breaking up by hand. Sieve to clean seed. Seedheads are prone to insect attack and should be dusted with an insecticide. Most species have a two month dormancy. Surface sow.
