Sedgelands, heaths and on low nutrient soils, such as peat on quartzite gravel, with high rainfall. Sea level to 900m.

General Notes
Usually grown by division, although plants recover slowly. Fire tolerant. Resistant to Phytophthora cinnamomi. Flower stalks are used by modern basket weavers. Suitable below powerlines.
