Flowers
Small white female flowers borne on spiralling stems in summer, and very small male flowers on separate plants. As the fruits mature, they are pulled down to the pond floor by the spiralling stem.

Locally frequent in rivers, eg Jordan River at Bridgewater, in the Macquarie River at Ross and the South Esk River.

General Notes
Propagate by division; fruits with viable seed are not found in most populations. A good pond plant, and useful for large cold-water and tropical tanks. Suitable below powerlines.
