Habitat Notes

Abundant alpine or subalpine species which may occur at much lower altitudes, particularly in disturbed areas such as road cuttings. A terrestrial species of moist, well-drained high plateaux or sunny clearings in highland forest. At lower altitudes grows in shady situations. In extreme exposure leaves are tinged orange.
