Habitat Notes

Uncommon, occurs in scattered locations on the central Plateau, eastern highlands and in the Midlands. Grows as a semi-aquatic of damp soils amongst grasses in waterlogged pastures and waterways of the Midlands. Also occurs on the seasonally inundated shores of man- made or natural waters.

General Notes

Top growth desiccates when soil substrate dries out and re-shoots with rising water level. Distinguished from other members of the species by its habitat, spreading habit and excessively swollen leaf bases and deciduous nature. Suitable below powerlines.
