Terrestrial, rootstock knobby with fleshy roots, sterile fronds narrow- elliptical widest towards middle, fertile pinnae up to 15cm tall.

Habitat Notes

Uncommon from scattered coastal localities and the Central Highlands up to at least 1190m. Favours sites with little competition. May grow in thin, mossy soil layers over rock platforms and along margins of coastal and highland lagoons. Will also grow exposed to salt spray.
