Trees grown from seed collected from trees on dolerite talus may be quite drought tolerant. Makes a delightful specimen when open grown. Colourful smooth bark. Not suitable below powerlines. 

Mature capsules are smooth and about 12mm in diameter.collect capsules and store in paper bags until valves open to release seed, usually within a few days. separate seed by sieving
